The Pros And Cons Of Universal Basic Income: The Future Of Welfare?

Universal basic income, or UBI, is a social welfare policy that provides all citizens of a country or region with a regular sum of money, either as a grant or stipend, regardless of whether they are employed or not. While the idea of implementing UBI has been around for centuries, it has recently gained traction as a potential solution to the growing problem of income inequality and unemployment. Supporters of UBI argue that it would provide a safety net for those who have lost their jobs due to automation and globalization.

With the rapid advancement of technology, there is a very real possibility that automation will soon replace many human jobs. This has led some people to call for a universal basic income (UBI), which would give every citizen a guaranteed income regardless of employment status.

Universal Basic Income is coming, but it may not be the utopia that some people are hoping for. With the advent of automation and the increasing jobless rate, more and more people will be without a source of income. This could lead to a number of negative consequences, including gambling, drug use, obesity or other health concerns, and crime as more people have more time and more money at their disposal.

All this brings up the question as to is the human mind and body built to withstand this reliance on corporate and/or government welfare? Should we humans be built to be a contributing member of society or just a consumer of entitlements?
